LEAP: L(earning) E(ducation) A(dvocacy) P(rogram)

LEAP (Learning and Educational Advocacy Program) serves as a point of contact for parents in need of support, referrals and information concerning their children’s special needs including learning disabilities, developmental delays, sensory integration and autism. Meetings are an emotionally supportive, confidential venue in which to both vent frustrations and celebrate successes. Equally as important, time together is used to problem-solve as well as to explore and address common concerns and interests.

LEAP also brings together in an integrated and coordinated way the immense knowledge and resources represented in our community by creating 1) a lending library of books, journals, video tapes and other materials which help parents stay current on research and therapeutic interventions and 2) a directory of therapeutic resources available locally including expat spouses who have expertise in such things as speech therapy, PT, OT, cranial-sacral release, etc.
