Chairwoman's letter:
Dear Members,
This is our last edition for 2011. The end of the year always catches me by surprise. Time flies, and since motherhood knocked on my door, time really does fly extra fast. I prefer to see the Holidays not so much as about opening presents as opening our hearts. It is a reminder to give to all. Giving is to transfer something without the expectation of receiving something in return. I don’t think we ever stop giving; I think it is an ongoing process. It is not about being able to write a check; it is about being able to touch somebody’s life.
BAMBI touched my life from day one. I am pretty sure that I am not the first person to experience that, and I won’t be the last. BAMBI has been touching people’s lives for years now – 30 years to be exact. Yes, in 2012, BAMBI is turning 30! The BAMBI Committee has been already talking about next year in our monthly meetings. For months, we have been talking about what the next step will be for BAMBI. We thought it would be an awesome idea for BAMBI to have a HOME. This is not an original idea, as the Committee has been thinking about this project on and off throughout the years. However, we are a non-profit organization and our budget is always low. If you own a business or you are a part of an organization which would like to sponsor this home, we would love to hear from you. If you think that you have a space for us, we would be ecstatic to hear about it. You are welcome to contact me on that: chairwoman@bambiweb.org.
The other day I read something that I would like to share with you:
“Asking is the beginning of receiving. Make sure you don’t go to the ocean with a teaspoon. At least take a bucket so the kids won't laugh at you.”, by Jim Rohn, an American entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker.
Be well,
Eleni Petraki
